Alan Winfield is an American Meteorologist working for Bay News 9. He has been working for the station since joining in September 1997. He is a proud graduate of Penn State University where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree. Asides from this, he is a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma where he obtained his Masters’s Degree.

Winfield serves as a meteorologist at Bay News 9 during tropical storms and hurricane coverage. His career as a journalist has taken him across the country and to some of America’s most volatile weather spots. He kick-started his journalism career working in Tornado Alley, at KJRH-TV, the NBC affiliate station located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Later on, he went on to move to Richmond, Va. There, he was giving residents their weather forecasts at WTVR-TV.
He later moved to the rainy Pacific Northwest at Seattle’s KSTW-TV. This was prior to deciding to watch the often unpredictable skies in West Central Florida. There, he was working as the leader of Bay News 9’s team of meteorologists. Winfield is a proud recipient of the seal of the American Meteorological Society.
From the days he spent in the Midwest, he enjoys camping, and storm chasing, and is an active member of his church and in the Bay area community. The month of April year 2006 saw him make a decision to take a position in his church. However, he will still be available to Bay News 9 for tropical storm and hurricane coverage.
