Alex Fisher Biography

Alex Fisher is an American anchor/reporter working at KGET-TV where he serves as a weekday morning co-anchor of Sunrise which airs from 5 am to 7 am alongside Maddie Janssen. He joined the 17News team in May 2016, as a reporter.

Fisher attended Rosedale North Elementary School, Freedom Middle School, and Liberty High School where he graduated in 2012. Later on, he joined Pepperdine University in Malibu where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism and Rhetoric in 2016.

Bakersfield is his native home and he is delighted to be reporting and anchoring in his hometown. While he studied at Pepperdine, he was actively involved with the campus television station known as NewsWaves 32 where he served as an anchor, reporter, and producer. In addition, he also worked for the campus newspaper known as The Graphic where he served as the assignment editor.

Alex spends his summer interning at WRC-TV, and NBC4 in Washington, D.C. Furthermore, he also studied abroad in Heidelberg, Germany for an academic year. While he was abroad, he traveled to 16 different countries thus engaging himself in different cultures. Over the years, he has visited over two dozen countries as he continues to travel around the world. During his free time, he enjoys exploring new eateries around the county and walking around to the local coffee shops in downtown Bakersfield.
