Kevin Charette Biography

Kevin Charette is an American meteorologist working at KGET-TV where he serves as the chief meteorologist a position he took up in 2022. He can also be seen broadcasting weather on the morning and noon newscasts. He joined KGET-TV in September 2005. 

Washington state is Charette’s native home and he started his broadcasting career at the NBC station in Medford, Oregon where he serves as a reporter and weekend weathercaster. Later on, he shifted to the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas and after serving as a reporter for a period of 2 years, he relocated to Bakersfield.

He has always loved the science behind weather and he finds it rewarding to inform the community about what’s going to happen. Charette is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. Over the years, he has received many awards for his work, such as an Emmy award for Best Morning News, being honored by the Kern Press Club with Best Weathercast in Bakersfield award, and being awarded a Plank Foundation Humanitarian of the Year award.

In addition, whenever he finds time, he enjoys assisting cancer patients with his nonprofit Thumbs Up, coaching baseball, Cancer Down, and spending ample time with his husband Cody and their three dogs; Jayda, Londyn, and Brooklyn.
