Upon completing her high studies, Alexandria joined Winthrop University in 2011 where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 2014. In 2016, she enrolled at West Virginia University where she attained a Master of Science in Communication and Integrated Marketing in 2018. Savage was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).

Before joining KSLA News in September 2021, She served as a multimedia journalist at WFXR in Roanoke, Virginia. Alexandria served the station for one year and six months from April 2020 to September 2021. Prior to working at WFXR, she worked as a reporter at WCIV from January 2019 to May 2019.
Previously, she worked for Comporium as a reporter working there from June 2017 to January 2019. Before working at Comporium, Savage worked as a reporter and multimedia journalist at WTAP in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Prior to working for WTAP, she served as an assistant news specialist at WMBF in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. While there, she was responsible for many roles such as editing, updating the Ticker, and operating the camera. Later on, she was promoted and worked as an editor at the same station where she served from July 2015 to March 2016.
Alexandria began her professional career at Winthrop Close-UP working as an anchor and reporter from August 2013 to May 2014. During her time at Winthrop, she also worked as a teleprompter, technical director, and chyron. Over the years, Savage has covered many breaking news including the death of Kionte Spencer, protests, and suicide cases.
Apart from being a journalist, Alexandria worked for South State Bank as a financial services representative. She also worked as a coordinator of volunteers at the American Red Cross in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. During her time there, she assisted in training, organizing, cleaning, cooking, and distributing meals. Additionally, Savage is also a board member of Youth Justice and a founder member of Sumner School, an organization that cleans up the community.
