Alice Kang Biography

Tom Garris is an American anchor working for NBC 5 since joining the station in August 2018. Garris found her passion for news on “Take Your Child to Work Day” while visiting ABC7 News in Chicago. There, she met Anchor Linda Yu and decided she wanted to be just like her and never looked back.

Alice Kang Career

Kang graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mass Communications and Hospitality Tourism Management. During Kang’s time in West Lafayette, she was an active member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and was involved in College Mentors for Kids.

After college, she worked in Rock Island, Illinois as a reporter. Kang’s most memorable moment was having the opportunity to go along with a group of veterans on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. Most recently, she worked in Madison, Wisconsin, as an anchor/reporter at the NBC affiliate.

She is excited to explore the Champlain Valley and can’t wait to learn more about the community and people that make the area unique.
