Annie Yu is an American Anchor working for WUSA-TV serving as a morning news anchor alongside Allison Seymour from 4:25 to 7 a.m. Previously, she served as a news reporter and anchor at Fox 5 News in Washington, DC.

Upon completing high school, Annie attended George Mason University in 2000 and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communication. She also served as an ambassador at the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders organization where she made contact with the community service.

Yu serves as a morning news anchor from 4:25 to 7 a.m. along with Allison Seymour on WUSA-TV in Washington, DC. She joined the station in October 2018 working with the “Get Up DC” and “Wake Up Washington” teams. For her work, the station was recognized by the Congressional Record and several lawmakers. Earlier, Annie spent nearly seven years working as a news reporter and anchor at Fox 5 News in Washington, DC.
She began her career at WTTG-TV, the Fox5 affiliate in Washington, DC. While there, she worked as a traffic producer and writer from December 2004 to February 2005. After that, Annie secured a position as an assignment editor before later being promoted to producer and reporter. In addition, she also covered multiple news including the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election, the DC Mayoral Debate 2010, the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial Dedication, and National Cherry Blossom Festival 2008-2010.
Throughout her career, Yu has reported numerous news such as the Nationals’ World Series Parade and Donald Trump’s and Barack Obama’s presidential inaugurations. She also covered several military surviving spouses who fought in the “Widow’s Tax,” in 2019 leading to benefits for more than 65,000 families. On top of this, Yu co-hosted several shows such as “The Red Zone” and “Redskins Game Time” which earned her the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award.
