Anthony Romano Biography
Anthony Romano is an American journalist working for WDBJ as the weekend sports anchor since July 2019. He joined the station in May 2018 as the New River Valley Bureau reporter. Previously, he served KOMU in Columbia, Missouri as part of the sports and news team.

Romano joined the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 2014 when he finished his high school education. In 2018, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Sports Journalism. He also received a Statistics degree there.
While in college, he worked for the campus TV station, MUTV, as the sports director. He also hosted Triple Play, broadcasted athletics, and the 2015 campus protests. His work was featured in national outlets like Reuters.

Sicne joining the station, he has broadcasted local college and high school athletics including ACC football and basketball. Also, he broadcasted the Virginia men’s basketball team’s run to the national championship in 2019 and the Final Four in Minneapolis.
Previously, he served KOMU in Columbia, Missouri as part of the sports and news team, broadcasting University of Missouri athletics and local high school sports. There, he wrote, edited videos, and created graphics for sports block in 6, 9, and 10 pm newscasts once a week. He first worked for KOMU as a sports and news reporter. He also reported for Friday Night Fever Game of the Week.
