Valen works with WTXL-TV where she serves the station as an Evening News Anchor. She moves to Tallahassee from Wichita Falls, Texas where she was co-anchoring the morning news for KAUZ. There, she was waking up Texoma viewers with breaking news stories from Texas, Oklahoma, and across the world. Her journalism career has taken her from New York to London, and back to the United States.

She has also worked for Charlie Rose and News 12 in New York. This is in addition to working with Bloomberg News in the London Bureau.
