Barbara Gauthier Biography
Barbara Gauthier is an American journalist working for WTVM as an anchor of the station’s 5, 5:30, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts. She joined the station in September 2008 and has served the station for more than a decade. Previously, she worked as a morning anchor at the NBC affiliate WKYC in Cleveland, Ohio.

In late 2019, Gauthier was inducted into the NATAS – Emmy Silver Circle. The Harris County native returned to the Chattahoochee Valley after she worked in Cleveland, Ohio at NBC affiliate WKYC as a morning anchor. Before her time in Cleveland, she worked at BET (Black Entertainment Television) in Washington D.C. as a primary anchor and chief national correspondent. While in Washington, Gauthier helped BET debut its nightly national newscast in 2000.
Gauthier worked in Atlanta at WXIA-NBC as a weekend anchor and reporter before she worked in Washington. There, she broadcasted multiple big stories including the Centennial Olympic Park bombing and the 1996 Olympic Games.
She worked in Oklahoma City at KOCO as a morning anchor. There, she won many awards for broadcasting during the Oklahoma City Bombing. Organizations like the National Association of Black Journalists recognized her for her reporting.
During her career, Gauthier has worked at multiple other TV and radio stations in Connecticut, Texas, and Georgia. Away from journalism, she is on the board of directors of the Southeast Chapter of NATAS and gives much of her time to matters and firms that endorse and assist the needy in the community.
Gauthier has worked as the host of the yearly luncheon for Hope Harbour, which benefits domestic violence victims, for over 10 years. Additionally, she annually works with firms like the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley, the Chattahoochee Council of Boy Scouts of America, and numerous others that support the youth.
