Baylee Bates is an American reporter/anchor/producer working at KCEN-TV in Temple, Texas where she serves as a weekend anchor and multimedia journalist. She joined the station in June 2021 as a multi-skilled journalist.

Bates attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Mass Communication. While still in the University, she was part of the Gaylord College of Journalism where she served as an anchor/reporter for the student-run weekday newscast “OU Nightly.”
She covered a story, “Operation School Bell” which won the first-place award from the Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association for Television Feature News. Following her junior year in college, Bates also was a summer intern at WFAA in Dallas and was an active member of the Alpha Phi Sorority.

Before joining KCEN, Bates worked for KTEN in Sherman-Denison, Texas as a producer, reporter, and fill-in evening news anchor. While in the Texoma region, Baylee had a one-on-one interview with Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt and extensively followed the Choctaw Nation. Bates executed an eye-opening story about the 35 years of controversial prison release of a convicted murderer and the subject of The Innocent Man a Netflix series.
