Ben Barr is an American journalist working for WABI TV5 as a sports director since joining the station in September 2021. Previously, he worked in Minot, North Dakota at KMOT as the sports director for 6 years.

Barr joined the University of Maryland in 2010 when he finished his high school education. In 2013, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. During his time in college, he served the UMD Men’s Club Ice Hockey Broadcasting.

Ben serves WABI TV5 as a sports director. In this capacity, he films, reports, produces, and anchors five sportscasts per day Monday to Friday, with occasional sports reporting on weekends. He looks forward to broadcasting the Husson Eagles, Maine Black Bears, and more high schools and colleges in the region.
After working in the Peace Garden State at KMOT for 6 years, he decided to relocate to Maine so that he could be closer to Lancaster County, his hometown. Before serving KMOT, Barr worked at Sirius XM MLB Network Radio as an Associate Producer from June 2014 to May 2015. He served Top Flight Media as a sports anchor from April 2014 to May 2015.
Barr served 106.7 The Fan as a reporter where he covered D.C. area sports teams. He worked at Federal News Radio as a Sports Producer for a year and 9 months. Prior to that, he worked as a Board Operator at WAVA 105.1 AM/FM Salem Communications from March 2014 to January 2015.
