Nguyen serves as a morning news co-anchor alongside Lissette Gonzalez and Keith Jones from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. on WFOR-TV. Before moving to WFOR-TV in February 2023, she worked in New York City as a co-anchor at WPIX-TV. There, she replaced Sukanya Krishnan and became a co-anchor of the PIX11 Morning Show. During her time at WPIX-TV, Betty covered multiple news including the 2020 Presidential election, the terror attacks in lower Manhattan, and Governor Andrew Cuomo’s resignation.
For her magnificent work, she was awarded two Emmy Awards for “Social Media Interactivity” and “Best Morning Newscast”. Earlier, Nguyen spent nearly ten years working at NBC News as an anchor. She also appeared in other NBC shows such as the Today Show, MSNBC, and Weekend Today, where she filled in as a correspondent and anchor. On top of this, she also reported high-profile news such as the French terror attacks, the war in Syria, the 2016 Presidential election, and the election of Pope Francis.
Prior to working for NBC, Betty worked at CBS News as a correspondent and anchor. While there, she covered a wide range of news such as the 2011 earthquake in Japan, the Royal wedding, the 2012 Presidential election, and the death of Osama Bin Laden, In addition, she also worked for Entertainment Tonight where she served as a special correspondent.
Nguyen previously worked at CNN Newsroom as a weekend edition anchor for six years. As an anchor, she reported extensive news including the death of Pope John Paul II, Hurricane Katrina, and the 2010 Haiti earthquake. Betty began her journalism career at KWTX-TV in Waco, Texas as a morning reporter and anchor. Later on, she moved and joined KTVT-TV in Dallas as an anchor. She also covered significant news such as the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster and the 2003 California gubernatorial election.
