Sammann attended New Trier High School in 2011 where he graduated with a diploma in 2015. While there, he was an active member of the wrestling team, football team, and WNTH Radio. Sammann serves as a weekend anchor and MMJ at WGEM-TV in Quincy, Illinois. He has been with the station for more than four years since he joined in June 2019. Prior to working at WGEM-TV, he worked as a desk assistant at KOMU-TV in Columbia Missouri. Blake joined the station in January 2017 working as a production assistant a role he served for five months. As a production assistant, he was in charge of operating the teleprompter and appearing on Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings on the spliced B-roll broadcast.

Previously, Blake served as a digital producer at KOMU-TV from September 2017 to May 2019 where he wrote web stories for the station. He also created social media content for KOMU 8 and monitored and arranged important stories for the station. In addition to working as a digital producer, he also served as a reporter and co-anchored the Saturday newscasts at 6, 9, and 10 pm. While still at KOMU-TV, Blake was in charge of various roles such as writing scripts, editing videos, and conducting informational interviews. Besides this, he also covered major breaking news including the scandal that led to the resignation of Eric Greitens and President Trump’s visit to Columbia.

Before joining KOMU-TV, he worked for CME Group in Chicago where he served as a corporate communication intern. Sammann also wrote content for social media platforms where he promoted the “Futures Radio” podcast and helped with the production of “Market Movers”. On top of this, he also wrote stories for the internal company website where he served the station from May 2017 to August 2017. Initially, Blake worked for Glencoe Park District as a boat guard, lifeguard, and assistant manager from May 20115 to August 2016. While there, he managed all aspects of beach operations and patrolled and surveilled the Glencoe beach. He also provided medical aid as well as help with public relations efforts and beach sanitation.

Sammann began his professional career at WNTH 88.1 FM in New Trier High School where he served as a director of special events. While there, he was in charge of coordinating special events and collaborated with sportscaster and WNTH DJs in making sure events ran smoothly. In September 2014, he secured a position as a program director at the same station where he served for nine months. In his role as program director, he was responsible for producing and maintaining the 2014/2015 broadcast schedule and helped directors in their special events roles.
