Brad Nitz Biography
Brad Nitz is a well-reputed American Emmy Award-winning Journalist working for WSB-TV as the Chief Meteorologist. He joined WSB-TV in January 2006. There, he can be seen weekdays on Channel 2 Action News at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 6 p.m., and on WSB Tonight at 11 p.m. He has over twenty-five years of experience in major markets and national networks. Brad is a member of the American Meteorological Society and is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM).

Before that, he was a Meteorologist at WESH 2 CW18 from August 1997 to July 2002. There, he was a weekday noon and 5:30 pm meteorologist. Because of his work as a meteorologist, he has received numerous awards, including an Emmy Award for his coverage of Hurricane Irma in 2017. Also, he has won several Emmy nominations for coverage of metro Atlanta’s tornadoes and flooding. He has won the Excellence Award from the Atlanta chapter of the American Meteorological Society for “Outstanding and innovative live team coverage” of severe weather. Moreover, he has won “Best Weather Reporting” from the Associated Press several times over the years, including for his work covering tornadoes, severe weather, and winter storms in metro Atlanta.
