Michael Seiden Biography
Michael Seiden is an American Journalist working for WSB as a reporter since joining the station in June 2018. Previously, he served WPLG in Miami/Ft Lauderdale as a reporter and fill-in anchor.
Michael Seiden Education
Seiden joined Arizona State University in August 2004 when he finished his high school education at Walton High School. In December 2008, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Mass Communications and Media Studies.
Michael Seiden Career
Michael works for WSB as a reporter. Since joining the station, he has extensively reported on law enforcement and the justice system. Previously, he worked for WPLG in Miami/Ft Lauderdale as a reporter and fill-in anchor. During his time in Miami, he broadcasted everything including big national stories and breaking news. In 2018, he served among the first reporters on the scene at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High during the lethal mass shooting.
In 2017, he provided reports from New York City and helped lead WPLG’s live team broadcast from the ground of the terror assault in Lower Manhattan. He went to Texas where he broadcasted Hurricane Harvey and returned to South Florida a few days later to broadcast Hurricane Irma. Also, he broadcasted big events like the demise of Fidel Castro, the Pulse Nightclub slaughter, and the boat crash that claimed the lives of Jose Fernandez and two others.
Before working for WPLG, he reported for KOCO in Oklahoma City. During his time there, he covered some of the most lethal disasters including the 2013 EF-5 tornado that tore through Moore. He launched his career when he worked in Beaumont, Texas as a reporter at KBMT. He first tasted journalism while he was a high school student where he anchored the morning announcements at WHS-TV.
Since graduating college, he has always had a passion for working with animals and children. For instance, he serves as a volunteer with the non-profit, Clippers & Cops. Also, he serves L.E.A.D. which has a mission to lead and transform Atlanta by using baseball to teach Black boys how to conquer crime, poverty, and racism. Moreover, he has volunteered with many firms including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and The Humane Society.
