Brandon Merano is an American Emmy Award-winning Anchor and Reporter working for WCIA-TV serving as an evening anchor alongside Jennifer Roscoe at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. Previously, he served as an evening anchor at WSIL-TV in Carterville, Illinois.

After graduating from high school, Brandon attended Southern Illinois University in 2010 where he received a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast journalism in 2013. While still at Campus, he worked as an adjunct professor from September 2022 to January 2023.

Merano serves as an evening anchor at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts on WCIA Channel 3 alongside Kevin Lighty, Karina Rubio, and Jennifer Roscoe. He joined the station in January 2023 where he has been serving for one year and two months. Before joining WCIA Channel 3, Brendon worked for WSIL-TV in Carterville, Illinois, where he served as an evening anchor. While there, he was in charge of various roles such as conducting interviews, delivering reports and analysis, and working as an online journalist. Merano worked for the station for nine months from January 2022 to September 2022.
Prior to working as an evening anchor, Brandon served as a reporter at CBS News in Chicago, Illinois. He served the station from November 2020 to January 2022 where he was responsible for public affairs, and corporate communication. Previously, Merano worked as an anchor and MSJ at KSDK -TV in St. Louis from February 2018 to November 2020. While there, he covered major breaking news including the PGA Championship in 2018, the Blues Stanley Cup Championship in 2019, and Cardinal pennant chases.
He began his professional career at WSIL-TV working as an anchor and MMJ in Carterville, Illinois. In addition to working as an anchor, Merano also worked as a producer and reporter where he worked from February 2012 to February 2018. For his excellent work, he has been honored with various awards such as the Murrow Award and the Emmy Award.
Apart from working as a journalist, Brandon works as a Lieutenant in the Air National Guard a position he accepted in February 2021. He joined the United States Air Force in September 2009 working as a in-flight refueler at the age of 17 years. On top of this, he is also the owner of the Merano Multimedia which was launched in November 2022. Besides work, Merano is also involved in various charitable organizations such as TalentBlvd, Champaign-Urbana Jaycees, and Team Red, White & Blue.
