Brent Cameron Biography

Brent Cameron is an American meteorologist working for 7News WSVN. He has been working for 7News WSVN since joining in the summer of 2005.

Brent Cameron Education

Brent graduated with a major in Telecommunications from Ball State University. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity while at college and was voted President of the Student Body in 1990-91. He followed up with a degree from Mississippi State University in Broadcast Meteorology.

Cameron serves as the weekend forecaster at 5:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 10:00 pm, and 11:00 pm at WSVN. His forecastings enclose several weather events including tornadoes, hurricanes, and forest fires. He started his weather forecasting in western Montana at KPAX-TV, Missoula, in 1994 serving as the primary weather anchor. He, later on, joined WPTA-TV in Ft. Wayne Indiana where he served as a weather anchor and reporter. While there, he also tracked tornadoes and monitored wild weather extremes in the Midwest. He then joined WTHR in Indianapolis in 2003 where he served as a meteorologist. While here, he enclosed different events such as snowstorms, thunderstorms, and hurricanes.

Some of the different extreme weather events he has enclosed include Hurricane Wilma in 2005 as well as the “Indy 500” Tornado Outbreak of 2004. Both of these extreme weather events had a huge impact on Florida and were also destructive. He is also very active when it comes to helping the people of her community by hosting big events. For instance, he often speaks to south Florida classrooms with that very message. Additionally, he also used to host the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon where he also volunteered. He also made several donations and time to the Make a Wish Foundation. Furthermore, he is an avid animal lover and has worked with the Humane Society on several events.
