Robbin graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in information studies and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. In high school and college, she learned Italian. She moved to Italy as a high school band geek and fell in love with the language.

Simmons serves as the co-anchor of the weekend editions of 7 NEWS at 5, 6, & 10. She previously worked for WDIV-TV in Detroit where she served as a reporter as well as an anchor. Before she joined WDIV-TV in Detroit, she was working for WSVN where she started off by serving as a general assignment reporter and was later given a raise and started serving as a Saturday morning weekend anchor. While still at WSVN, she managed to enclose Timothy McVeigh’s execution, the Elian Gonzalez saga, and the 2000 Presidential election.
Simmons also went to Vatican City for President Obama’s visit to Pope Francis in March 2014. She also enclosed the 2009 Presidential Inauguration and a ton of other events that hit the headlines. Simmons went to the University of Iowa where she attained her bachelor’s degree in communication studies. She also went to Northwestern University where she attained her master’s degree in journalism. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, watching foreign films as well as baking.
