Brian Colleran Biography

Brian Colleran is an American anchor working for NBC 5 since joining the station in July 2016. He anchors the evening newscasts on NBC 5 in the 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m., and 10 p.m. newscast on The Valley CW.

Colleran has helped host station coverage of the Vermont City Marathon and Burlington Discover Jazzfest. Has served as a moderator in the station’s live political debates and in January of 2020 traveled to Iowa to cover the Iowa Caucus, following Senator Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign.

He is a native of Long Island and has worked in local television for nearly 25 years. His work as an anchor and reporter has been recognized by broadcasting associations in Colorado, Alabama, and Florida. In 2015, Colleran was honored with an Edward R. Murrow regional award. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Government and Politics.
