Brooke Buford is an American anchor and reporter working for KALB as the weekday evening anchor at 4 pm, 5 pm, and 6 pm, and the criminal justice system, reporter. She re-joined KALB in March 2014, after previously working at WGME-TV.
Baltimore, Maryland is her native home and in 2006, she joined Towson University where she graduated in 2010, with a Bachelor of Science in mass communications and journalism. She has resided in Central Louisiana since she began her broadcasting career at KALB in 2011. She left KALB in 2012 and took up a job in a news station in Portland, Maine before she later returned to KALB in 2014. Buford was among the few journalists selected by the University of South Carolina’s School of Law from the United States for a week-long media-law school fellowship in 2016.
In addition, Brooke was among the 12 journalists who were selected in 2017, to participate in an all-expense-paid fellowship called the RIAS German-American Exchange from Program. For two weeks, she was in Belgium and Germany where she met journalists from around the globe. Furthermore, while she was there, she took part in seminars at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin and spent time with key members of German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s team, the European Commission, and NATO. She loves volunteering in the community and for the last 2 years, she has been on the board of directors for the YWCA Alexandria-Pineville. During her free time, she enjoys traveling abroad.
