Tom Konvicka Biography
Tom Konvicka is an American retired meteorologist who is well known for his time at KALB-TV where he served as the chief meteorologist. He joined the KALB-TV weather team on November 12, 1984, and later on September 15, 2021, he left the station. Konvicka is also an author and adjunct instructor.
Konvicka joined Texas Tech University where he graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Geosciences. He also graduated from the Atmospheric Science Group at Texas Tech in 1982. He worked at KALB-TV in Alexandria, Louisiana for 50 years while serving as the chief meteorologist.
In addition, he also serves as an adjunct lecturer in meteorology at Louisiana College in Pineville and an author. Furthermore, he is a consultant who is legally tendered as an expert in the field of meteorology. He served in The Author’s Guild of the American Meteorological Society, and in 2016, he won the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters Lifetime Achievement Award in Television.
