Brooke Wagner Biography
Brooke Wagner is an American journalist working for KOLD as the primary evening anchor, fact finder, and executive talent coach since she was promoted in August 2023. She joined the station in August 2017 as the primary weeknight anchor. Previously, she served the International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as the global media and marketing director.

Wagner has worked for KOLD as the primary evening anchor, fact finder, and executive talent coach since she was promoted in August 2023. In this role, she produces, edits, and reports regular “Fact Finder” deep-dive segments. Also, she trains on-air staff in writing, creative storytelling, delivery, and news gathering. Moreover, she anchors the 4 and 6 p.m. hour-long weekday newscasts. Upon joining the station, she initially worked as the primary weeknight anchor.
Wagner fell in love with Tucson as a kid when they were visiting the city with her family for years. Her favorite sports include the Airplane Boneyard, Romero Pools, Mini Time Machine of Miniatures, and Tohono Chul. The Emmy award-winning journalist has over 30 years of experience in the industry. She has worked as a television reporter/anchor in Denver, Austin, San Diego, and several other cities. She, however, states that she felt happy working in Southern Arizona.
Wagner is passionate about telling the stories of those who can’t tell their own. She states that she has spent more than a decade working to help place dozens of children in forever homes through the Adoption Exchange.
Wagner is also a longtime media ambassador to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, visiting the Memphis facility several times. Later on, after receiving life-saving blood transfusions herself, she became a vocal advocate for blood donation. She has also been a champion of mental health awareness.
Wagner has not only been awarded several Emmy Awards for best newscast, digital event, and interview but also her peers in the Colorado Broadcasters Association chose her adoption stores for their Best Community Service Campaign Award. Asides from this, she was also awarded the Colorado Association of Black Journalists Scribes in Excellence Award. This is in addition to receiving the Society of Professional Journalists Bill Stout Award for breaking news reporting.
