Carlo Cecchetto is an American Anchor/Reporter who is the evening anchor for KFMB-TV in San Diego, California. He arrived to anchor the 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts of CBS News 8 in August of 2008.
Cecchetto grew up on the sunny, sandy beaches of Oahu before moving to Southern California at the age of 12. He graduated from Whittier High School and then attended the University of Southern California where he graduated with a degree in Political Science.

This is Cecchetto’s second time around at KFMB, as he worked primarily as a morning reporter here from 2003 to the end of 2006. Cecchetto left San Diego to take a job as an evening anchor at KMTV in Omaha, Nebraska where he learned that the Midwest is much more than a “flyover country”.
It’s at CBS News 8 where he says he “grew up” as a reporter. From the Wildfires of 2003 to the Duke Cunningham scandal, Cecchetto covered it all. Cecchetto says he has learned from working alongside the best reporters in town and forged a commitment to accurate, balanced, and engaging reporting.
Cecchetto’s first on-air job was as a weekday reporter and weekend anchor at KOBI, the NBC affiliate in Medford. Cecchetto shot, wrote, and edited his own stories and learned what deadline pressure was all about. He then got a job as an anchor at KXXV, the ABC affiliate in Waco, Texas before coming to San Diego.
He is also involved in many causes from fighting Alzheimer’s Disease, to raising awareness about Domestic Violence, to helping children with cancer, he’s given time and energy to making a positive impact in San Diego and feels lucky to be able to help.
