Upon completing high school, Charles enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2019 where he graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies and Broadcast Journalism. While in college, Kelley worked as a content creator and social media coordinator from January 2021 to September 2022. As a content creator, he was in charge of hosting Instagram live sessions and updating the department’s website. In addition to this, he was also a member of the Sigma Chi International Fraternity and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ).

While there, Charles was responsible for gathering news, editing, and producing videos. On top of this, he and his crew traveled to Puerto Rico where he got the chance to interview Senator María de Lourdes Santiago. For his outstanding work, Kelley was honored with the Gold Milwaukee Press Club Award for his coverage reports.
He started his career at TMJ4 News as a morning blend intern from March 2022 to January 2023. In addition to working as an anchor, Kelley also works as a photographer at Charles Kelley Photography. There, he managed engagement events, album covers, and wedding events. Previously, he spent two months working for Luxee as a content creator from July 2023 to August 2023. During his time there, Charles created entertainment videos and worked together with influencers on TikTok for promotion.
Prior to working at Luxee, Kelley served as a content creator and social media manager at MKE Urban Stables and Dominican Center in Milwaukee. His duties at the station were tracking analytics, supervising social media accounts, and designing style guides. He worked for the station for four months from September 2022 to December 2022.
