Rineer serves as a multimedia journalist at KTTC-TV, the NBC 10 affiliate in Rochester, Minnesota. Before joining the station in July 2023, he worked as a color commentator and play-by-play for TU-ICE Network in Mount Laurel. Matt also covered a variety of sports events and delivered a number of live commentaries. Previously, Rineer spent nearly two years working as a producer and radio host at WHIP Radio in Philadelphia. While there, he was in charge of gathering audio elements, shooting, and creating live shows.

Prior to working at WHIP Radio, Matt served as an audio Mixer and camera operator at ESPN from September 2021 to May 2023. Before this, he also worked for The Sports Fanbase Network as a color commentator for nearly four years. During his time there, Rineer covered collegiate sports and local high school sports events.

Matt began his career at OwlSports Update Productions in Philadelphia where he served as a sports anchor and reporter. In addition to working for OwlSports, he also served as a play-by-play announcer at Drexel Ice Network from November 2022 to February 2023. Earlier, Rineer worked for Delmarva Sports Network as a production assistant from May 2022 to July 2022. His duties at the station included editing videos, filing sporting events, and writing scripts.

Before starting his career in journalism, Matt wanted to become a director or a designer in the video game industry. However, during his junior year, he changed his career after his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles won the Superbowl in 2017.
