Chris Womack is an American journalist working for WLOS as the sports director since he was promoted in November 2020 when Stan Pamfilis retired. He joined the station in July 2017 as an anchor and reporter. Previously, he worked for WIAT 42 in Birmingham, Alabama for 2 years.

He also broadcasted WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and even stepped into the ring to spar a round with him, which Wilder won. He worked in the news for five years before transitioning into the sports world.
Before deciding on the broadcast industry, Womack initially planned to play college basketball for one of the sport’s blue bloods, like North Carolina or Duke. However, the closest he reached to that dream was being dunked on by former Tar Heel Raymond Felton. Since he couldn’t go on the court, he decided to do the next best thing, sitting on press row. Even so, he enjoys telling stories.
