Christiane Amanpour is an American award-winning host and anchor working at CNN. She has been working at the network since joining in September 1983.

After finishing much of her high school education in Iran, her parents sent her to boarding school in England when she was 11. She attended Holy Cross Convent, an all-girls school in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, and later, at the age of 16, New Hall School, a Roman Catholic school in Chelmsford, Essex. After leaving New Hall, Amanpour traveled to the United States to study journalism at Rhode Island University. In 1983, Amanpour graduated summa cum laude University and Phi Beta Kappa graduated with a B.A. Graduated in journalism.

Amanpour serves as the anchor of “Amanpour,” at CNN based in London, and is also aired on PBS in the United States. She has also managed to enclose several stories that have hit the headlines all across the world including the 2003 American-led invasion and the 1991 Gulf War. In addition to that, she also made a documentary that was mainly about the bloody violence which has marked Iraq’s recent history. She also unmasked the Bosnian War during the siege of Sarajevo. On 5th May 2021, Amanpour was diagnosed with stage 2 ovarian clear cell carcinoma after a grapefruit-sized cyst was found on her right ovary. Following this, she underwent major surgery 10 days after her diagnosis. After the surgery, she underwent 18 weeks of chemotherapy. Six months after completing her chemotherapy, she went back to the field. After her treatment, she is in remission.
