Christie Ileto is a Filipino-American Emmy Award-winning journalist for 6abc Action News since joining the team in the fall of 2015. She previously worked as a reporter for WJZ-TV in Baltimore, Maryland.

While at WJZ-TV, Ileto was one of the first journalists to extensively cover the arrest of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old who died while in police custody from spinal injuries. Moments before riots broke out following his funeral, Ileto was on the ground. Ileto gave Marylanders and the nation an up-close look at the unrest fueled by his death for 12-hours of live-breaking news coverage.

Before Baltimore, she worked at WAFF in Huntsville, AL, and KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, NM, where she appeared on CNN for breaking weather coverage. Ileto is a native of the Washington, DC metro area, who attended and graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. When she is not working, Ileto can be found at a ballet barre class, traveling, or attempting to master her father’s recipes.
