Christie Smith is an American Emmy-Award-winning Reporter working for NBC Bay Area News in San Francisco Bay Area where she serves the station as a Weekday Morning Reporter. She has been working with the station since August 2001.

She joined the station working in the East Bay at night for several years before joining the morning news team. Smith states that she often waked up at 2:30 AM in the morning and appears on air from 4:30 AM to 7 AM and then at 11 AM.
The Berkeley native began her on-camera news career working as an anchor/reporter in Medford, Oregon. Later on, she went on to move to KCRA-TV in Sacramento and worked as a reporter for about three years. There, she was covering national stories like the Yosemite Sightseer Murders and a tragic school shooting outside of San Diego. While there, she also made stops in Monterey at KCNN-TV and Chicago at WFLD-TV working as a news writer and producer. The year 2002 saw him get the opportunity to cover the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. She states that it was incredible seeing people from different countries and hearing all the interesting languages.
