Kris Sanchez is a Mexican-American Anchor/Reporter working for NBC Bay Area News in San Jose, California where she serves the station as a Weekend Morning Anchor. She has been working with the station since January 2004.

Sanchez works with NBC Bay Area News where she serves the station as a Weekend Morning Anchor for Today in the Bay. Prior to joining the NBC Bay Area News, she was working as a news anchor in Texas, Colorado, Los Angeles, El Paso, Fresno, and Grand Junction.
Previously, she also worked for Channel One News where she was working with the current events for middle and high school students across the nation. When she was a correspondent, she covered the 2000 presidential campaign and traveled to Central America for the handover of the Panama Canal, and covered humanitarian work. Asides from this, she was honored by the National Association of Hispanic Journalists for her feature, “Cesar Chavez, A Legacy of Hope.”
When coming to her education, Sanchez attended the University of Texas in Austin between 1991 and 1996. There she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish Language and Broadcast Journalism. She was also a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi. As a journalist, Kris takes pleasure in being a life-long learner. She especially enjoys telling the stories of the diverse Bay Area community.
