Cody Holyoke is an American Anchor/Reporter working for KMBC 9 News/Hearst Television where he serves the station as a Morning News Anchor. Asides from this, he serves the station as a moderator of KMBC 9’s ‘Heart of the Matter.’

He was raised in Maine gaining a true appreciation for the outdoors and a strong sense of community. Asides from this, he is a proud graduate of Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. There, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Television and Radio in the year 2007. It is here that his “journalism bug” bit him by way of local TV and radio broadcasts.

Prior to KMBC 9 News, he was working with WRGB-TV in Albany, New York where he was serving the station as an Evening Anchor. There, he covered everything from clipping political corruption and environmental disasters to offbeat features and stories that capture the human spirit. His storytelling abilities and passion for journalism earned him multiple Associated Press awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award along with one Emmy win and several nominations.
He is no stranger to the Midwest and has worked as an anchor/reporter at WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In his time there, he was front and center following a number of major news stories. Asides from this, he was live on the scene after a lone gunman terrorized a Sikh temple in Oak Creek. He has also tracked a historic push to recall a sitting governor.
Asides from this, he has covered a number of severe weather events and most notably showed viewers the aftermath of a major tornado. This tornado leveled the town of Washington, Illinois. He was privileged to earn multiple awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. He kick-started his career at WSFA-TV in Montgomery, Alabama. While working as an anchor and reporter there, his work exposed and changed a major flaw in how sensitive medical records were discarded. Holyoke also helped end the manhunt for a shooter who killed his wife on a college campus. Asides from this, he also showed viewers the devastation brought on by a historic tornado outbreak.
Holyoke has also followed the cleanup efforts of the massive Gulf oil spill which cripples the economy along the Gulf Coast. He states that wherever he goes, he takes great care to capture the emotion of the moment, finding people and stories that are often overlooked and guiding viewers through what can often be difficult times and topics.
