Craig Ford is an American Anchor working with WTVA News where she serves the station as a co-anchor of WTVA 9 News at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and  6 p.m. He has been working with the station since December 1999.

Craig Ford Career

Ford works with WTVA News where she serves the station as a co-anchor for the Evening News at 4, 5, and 6 PM. As assistant news director, he also assists in the supervision of the news department. Ford came to WTVA/WLOV after working as the news director and 6:00 p.m. anchor for WHLT-TV in Hattiesburg-Laurel, Mississippi, where he was hired to build a news operation for the CBS affiliate.

Prior to that, he was an afternoon news editor/producer for KTRH-AM in Houston, Texas, where he was in charge of a six-hour news block. His career also includes stops as an assignment editor at WWL-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a news reporter/anchor at WWL-AM in New Orleans, Louisiana, and as a news director at WBBN-FM in Laurel-Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Ford has received numerous awards throughout his career. When WBBN-FM was named the winner of the Edward R. Murrow Award for spot news coverage in small market radio in 1995, he was recognized by the Radio-Television News Directors Association. In 1999, he was a member of the KTRH-AM team that won the Press Club of Atlantic City’s National Headliner Award for best newscast, defeating newscasts from ABC Radio and CBS Radio.

Ford was also named the Louisiana Associated Press Broadcasters Association’s Best Radio Reporter two years in a row, the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters’ Best Radio News Person, and the Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters’ News Person of the Year in 2014. His most recent honor came in 2017 when he was inducted into the MAPB Hall of Fame.
