Cynthia Izaguirre Biography
Cynthia Izaguirre is an American anchor who is working at WFAA. She serves as the co-anchor of News 8 which airs at 5, 6, and 10 pm alongside Chris Lawrence. In addition, she also reports weekly on Wednesday’s Child. She joined the WFAA team in 2011.
Cynthia Izaguirre Education
Izaguirre attended Dallas Independent School District. For elementary, she attended Herbert Marcus Elementary and later joined Longfellow Academy for middle school. She proudly graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. In addition, she attended The University of North Texas where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism with a double minor in Political Science and Spanish.

Dallas is her native home and while she was growing up, she enjoyed watching WFAA and considers it a great honor and privilege to work alongside some of the best journalists in the country. In addition, she is most proud of her work with Wednesday’s Child.
Since 2011, she has anchored and produced segments that have assisted find abused and neglected children a safe and loving homes. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Directors for TexProtects: The Texas Association for the Protection of Children. It has become her mission to fight for the most vulnerable children in our communities. During her spare time, she enjoys spending as much time as she can with her husband and children.

Izaguirre caught the coronavirus despite the fact that she has been vaccinated after she had attended a wedding in St. Louis over the weekend of July 24, 2021. She took off her mask during the reception and when she went back home she was fine. However, two days later she had a headache and slept the whole day. Her doctor came to check up on her and that was when she was diagnosed with COVID-19. Luckily, she healed and did not spread the disease to her family.
