Mike Leslie Biography
Mike Leslie is an American Emmy award-winning sports anchor and reporter who is working at WFAA. He serves as the 6 pm sports anchor at the station and the 10 pm sports anchor for PKGs. In addition, he joined the WFAA team in April 2015.
Mike Leslie Career
While working at WFAA, he covers a number of high schools, college, and professional teams including the Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Cowboys. Previously, he worked at ESPN radio (ESPN 730) where he was a talk show host and play-by-play announcer in Charlotte, North Carolina from January 2015 to March 2015.
In addition, Leslie also worked at Fox television affiliate where he served as a sports anchor and reporter. In 2006, he worked at WXXA where he served as a production assistant. Later on, Leslie joined WRHU radio where he served as a sports director till May 2010. In addition, Mike served as a play-by-play broadcaster for the play-by-play broadcast of New York-area High School sports.
Furthermore, Leslie has worked at Total Traffic Network for a period of nine months where he served as a WEEI sports Flash updated anchor and KOMO Sports Update Anchor. Later in June 2010, he joined WGGB-TV in Springfield, Massachusetts where he served as a sports director. While he worked at WGGB-TV, he served as the 6, 10 & 11 pm sports anchor.
In addition, Mike produces and co-hosts a weekly High School Basketball show known as Above the Rim. In 2013, he served as a freelance sports anchor and reporter at WHDH-TV. Furthermore, he has worked at Fox46 in Charlotte, North Carolina where he served as a sports anchor and reporter.
Furthermore, he also hosted a weekly sports talk show interviewing sports celebrities such as; former NFL QB Boomer Esiason, jockey Kent Desormeaux, Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco, golfer Phil Mickelson, college basketball coaches Bob McKillop and Jay Wright. He joined Hofstra University in 2006, and in 2010, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism.
