Matt Howerton is an American Emmy award-winning reporter who is working at WFAA. He specializes in general assignment reporting. In addition, he previously worked in both Waco and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Texas is his native home. Over the years, he has covered officers not properly using their mandatory body cameras, extensive reform within the Albuquerque Police Department, and an officer shortage that led to poor response times as well as an increase in crime.
