Cyril Vanier is an American anchor and correspondent who is known for working at Al Jazeera Media Network in Doha, Qatar as a principal presenter since September 2022. Previously, he served CNN as a Europe correspondent from July 2021 till his departure in March 2022.

Vanier serves Al Jazeera Media Network in Doha, Qatar as a principal presenter since September 2022. Previously, he worked for CNN International based in Paris where he served as an anchor. During his tenure at CNN, he managed to enclose quite a number of high-profile stories and events including former President Trump’s presidency: impeachment, Russia investigation, and midterms.

In addition to that, he also enclosed terror attacks in France, the death of Fidel Castro, missile tests in North Korea, and so much more. He also reported Live on Hurricane Irma, the Queen’s Speech in London, the 2017 presidential election in Paris for France, and the Oxfam prostitution scandal in Haiti.

Prior to working at CNN, he worked at France 24 where he served as an anchor, Executive Producer, and International Correspondent for about 10 years. During his tenure at France 24, he also reported on several stories including the Arab Spring (Egypt, Tunisia, Libya), the 2008 election of Barack Obama, terror attacks in Europe & Africa, the war in Afghanistan, and Israeli-Palestinian relations. In addition to the roles he had at France 24, he also served as the anchor of the network’s flagship shows The Debate as well as The F24 Interview.

Vanier has also received several awards including Bayeux War Correspondents Award as well as several nominations for several awards. He went to Sciences Po Paris (Paris’ Institute of Political Science) where he attained his M.A. in Journalism and Political Science.
