He is well-known for working at FOX 2 News and KPLR News 11 as a news anchor and reporter. He joined FOX 2 News in 2004 and KPLR News 11 in 2008. In addition to his roles in the stations, he served as a medical reporter. He anchored FOX 2 News at 11:00 am and News 11 at noon. Moreover, he reports for both stations during weekdays. He left and retired from the media industry after 15 years working at FOX 2 News.
He made an announcement on social media in October 2022 regarding his prostate cancer diagnosis. Before then, he was missing in action for two months from KPLR 11 News and KTVI FOX 2. After an unsuccessful biopsy surgery on November 17, 2022, he decided to retire having accumulated more than 50 years of experience in the industry. On December 21, 2022, the FOX 2 and KPLR 11 staff gathered to celebrate Gray’s remarkable career and bid him farewell.
