Daniel Winn Biography

Daniel Winn is an American journalist currently working as the Morning News Anchor at News 7 KWWL. He joined the station in June 2018.

Daniel Winn Career

He’s spent the majority of his professional life in the Midwest. For the past ten years, he has called St. Louis home. He began his career as an overnight radio news anchor at KTRS in St. Louis. Since then, he’s worked at ABC affiliate KTKA in Topeka, Kansas. He returned to the “Show-Me State” to anchor and report for KRCG 13 in Jefferson City, and then for ABC 17 KMIZ in Columbia. At his next stop, Tulsa’s NBC affiliate KJRH, Channel 2, he traded evenings for a 2 a.m. wake-up call, co-anchoring the morning and midday newscasts. After Tulsa, Daniel returned to Missouri to work for KSDK, Channel 5 in St. Louis (NBC).

Daniel has covered three governors, three state capitals, and former President Barack Obama’s presidential visits. In 2014, he reported living from the floods in Mid-Missouri (Lake of the Ozarks). In 2011, he was on the anchor desk in Mid-Missouri the night a massive tornado struck Joplin, Missouri. Daniel has also reported from Ferguson, Missouri, during the riots that erupted in the aftermath of Michael Brown’s shooting death in 2014.
