Taylor Vessel is an American journalist currently working as a Multimedia Journalist at KWWL based in Waterloo, Iowa, United States. He joined the station in June 2020.
Taylor Vessel Career
He returned to southern Illinois after a major life change to work for a local manufacturer for three years. Hard work taught him what it meant to be dedicated to a job. He went to Southern Illinois University to study journalism and video production as a result of his commitment. He’d wanted to be a news reporter since he was six years old, and he finally got his wish while attending college and working at WSIU Public Television. While attending classes full time, he would also work at several coffee shops, the local ABC affiliate, and help lead the student news team. He’ll be grateful for that challenge for the rest of his life.
He’s interested in seeing what eastern Iowa has to offer in terms of nature trails. When he’s not outside, you’ll find him reading a wide variety of books, watching a lot of movies, and socializing with his friends.
Since February 17, 2009, KWWL has only been broadcast in digital format. The station’s callsign was legally transferred from analog channel 7 to the new digital channel 7 from the now-defunct analog channel 7. Quincy Media announced on January 7, 2021, that it had put itself up for sale. Gray Television announced a few weeks later that it had purchased Quincy for $925 million. In nearby Mason City, KWWL will be a sister station to CBS affiliate KIMT.
On November 29, 1953, KWWL-TV went on the air for the first time. NBC and the DuMont network were the station’s first affiliations. Raycom Media bought KWWL’s entire broadcasting division in 1997. Following its acquisition of the Liberty Corporation in 2006, Raycom sold KWWl and a few other stations.
