Danielle DaRos is an American journalist working for WPEC CBS12 News as an investigative reporter and a live desk anchor since joining the station in January 2019. Previously, she served NECN in Portland, Maine as a reporter.
Danielle DaRos Education
DaRos joined Syracuse University in 2007 when she finished her high school education at Greensburg Salem High School. In 2011, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and American History. While in college, she was on the SU Mock Trial Team, Newhouse Peer Adviser, Connect Syracuse, and Dulye Leadership Experience.
DaRos worked as a reporter for ABC News On Campus at ABC News from June 2010 to June 2011. Before ABC News, she was a Sports Intern at CNYCentral (WSTM NBC3/WTVH CBS5/WSTQ CW6) from May 2010 to August 2010. From June 2008 to August 2009, she was a News Intern at WJAC-TV.

Her investigation that shed light on faults in COVID death counts made the Palm Beach Medical Examiner change protocols. As a journalist, she concentrates on holding decision-makers responsible, uncovering problems, and finding answers for the viewers.
Prior to joining WPEC, she worked at NECN as a reporter from April 2015 to December 2018. There, she covered the state of Maine for New England Cable News (NECN), a regional cable news network based in the Boston Market. Also, she reported for NECN’s sister station, NBC 10 Boston, and regularly filled in as a general assignment reporter in Boston.
Prior to NECN, she worked at Gannett for three years and nine months in three roles. First, as a Multimedia Journalist and Fill-in Anchor in Bangor, Maine from July 2011 to July 2012. Second, as a Bureau Chief from August 2012 to August 2013 in the Lewiston/Auburn, Maine Area. And third as a Reporter/Fill-Anchor for WCSH 6 in Portland, Maine from September 2013 to March 2015.
