Dann Cianca Biography
Dann Cianca is an American journalist working with KION-TV in Salinas, California as the chief meteorologist. He joined the station in 2014 as the morning meteorologist and anchor and was elevated to chief meteorologist in 2015.
Dann Cianca Education
Cianca attended the Metropolitan State University of Denver from 2005 to 2008 and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in meteorology with a minor in Mathematics. There he took part in the Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and was the President of the Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society from 2007 to 2008. He was also the treasurer of the Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society from 2006 to 2007. Cianca won the Metro State Meteorology Program’s Crystal Ball Award in the fall of 2007 and was the Metro State April Madness Tournament (WxChallenge) winner in the Spring of 2008.

Early career
Cianca started his career as a junior meteorologist at Skyview Weather from May 2008 to September 2008. There he had a season position manning the Flash Flood Prediction Program office for the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District. He then joined IPS MeteoStar from October 2006 to April 2009 as a software test engineer. Cianca worked as a broadcast meteorologist for IPS MeteoStar/Your Weather Network from April 2009 to July 2010.

He joined KJCT News 8 in December 2010 and worked as a weekend meteorologist and multi-media journalist until August 2012. Cianca was then elevated to a morning meteorologist, news anchor, and feature reporter in Grand Junction, Colorado from August 2012 to October 2013. From October 2013 to January 2014, he served as the Chief Meteorologist for the station.
