Dann Cianca Biography
Dann Cianca is an American meteorologist working for KION-TV as the chief meteorologist since 2015. He joined the station in 2014 as a morning meteorologist and anchor. Previously, he served KJCT News 8 as the chief meteorologist.
Dann Cianca Education
Cianca joined Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2005 when he finished his high school education. In 2008, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Meteorology and a Mathematics minor. During his time in college, he took part in the Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and was the President of the Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society from 2007 to 2008.
Cianca was also the treasurer of the Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society from 2006 to 2007. Cianca won the Metro State Meteorology Program’s Crystal Ball Award in the fall of 2007 and was the Metro State April Madness Tournament (WxChallenge) winner in the Spring of 2008.

Cianca has served KION-TV as the chief meteorologist since 2015. Upon joining the station, he first served the station as a morning meteorologist and anchor. Previously, he served KJCT News 8 as the chief meteorologist. He joined KJCT News 8 in December 2010 and worked as a weekend meteorologist and multi-media journalist until August 2012. Cianca was then elevated to a morning meteorologist, news anchor, and feature reporter in Grand Junction, Colorado from August 2012 till he was promoted to work as the chief meteorologist in October 2013.
Cianca worked as a broadcast meteorologist for IPS MeteoStar/Your Weather Network from April 2009 to July 2010. Before that, he served IPS MeteoStar as a software test engineer. He started his career as a junior meteorologist at Skyview Weather from May 2008 to September 2008. There he had a season position manning the Flash Flood Prediction Program office for the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District.
