David Gotfredson is an American investigative producer, focusing on special reports and in-depth investigations for KFMB-TV in San Diego, California since joining in 2000. He previously worked at KGTV, KUSI, KNSD, and KLAS in Las Vegas.
Gotfredson holds a BA in Communication/Visual Arts from UCSD and a MA in Communication from UNLV.
Over the course of 30+ years as a journalist, he has received 11 Emmy awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Pacific Southwest Chapter, and the Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting from the Radio Television Digital News Association. He has also received two Golden Mike Awards from the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California and several awards from the San Diego Press Club and the local chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
When he is not working, he volunteers with the Motor Transport Museum in Campo, CA, working to restore antique trucks. Gotfredson also enjoys dual-sport motorcycle riding in San Diego’s backcountry.
