David Hammer is an American Emmy Award-Winning Reporter working for WWL-TV as an investigative reporter. Before joining WWL-TV, he worked as a reporter at The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Before working at The Times-Picayune, David served as a newsman at the Associated Press in Washington D.C. Later on, he secured a position as a correspondent at the same station from September 2005 to December 2006. During his tenure at AP, Hammer reported extensive news including the presidential library, Bill Clinton’s foundation, and the Arkansas News. In 2005, Hammer received the Dallas Press Club Katie Award for best wire feature story.
Earlier, David served as a reporter at The Republican-American in Waterbury, Connecticut from 1998 to 2003. He started his career at The Holyoke Sun where he served as a sports editor from June 1997 to 1998. Throughout his career, Hammer has covered high-profile news starting from local government to state to uncovered government waste. Some of his coverage includes the Deepwater Horizon oil rig disaster, Hurricane Katrina, and exposed fraud.
