Deja Brown Biography
Deja Brown is an American traffic anchor and reporter working for WDSU where she serves as the weekday morning traffic anchor and breaking news reporter. She joined WDSU in September 2021, after previously working at KSN-16 where she served as a morning and noon anchor.
In 2014, she joined North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where she graduated magna cum laude in 2017, with a Bachelor of Science in journalism and mass communications. Later on, she joined the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University where she earned a master’s degree in mass communications and media studies in 2019.
Prior to joining WDSU, she worked in Joplin, Missouri for two years at KSNF-TV where she served as a weekday morning anchor. New Orleanian is her native home and she has always been passionate about storytelling as she always jokingly stayed that was wanted to be a journalist when she was 10 years old.
She started reporting for her school’s morning newscast in the fourth grade when she was 10 years old. Her passion for journalism fueled many of her journalistic endeavors and contributed to her becoming an award-winning journalist. In addition, she is a proud member of The National Association of Black Journalists and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. During her free time, she enjoys giving back to the community and traveling.
