Derrick Rose is an American reporter working for WISN-TV as an investigative reporter and an anchor at 4:00 p.m. on 12 News. Earlier, he served as a morning anchor at WHAS-TV in Louisville, Kentucky.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Derrick attended Towson University in 1999 where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media and Film in 2003.

Rose serves as an investigative reporter at WISN-TV and an anchor at 4:00 p.m. on 12 News along with Kristin Pierce. There, he delivers news mainly focusing on public officials, wastage, and uncovering corruption cases. During his time at WISN 12, Derrick has received two Emmy Awards and two Regional Emmy Awards for hosting a Special show called Project CommUNITY: Split State.
Prior to joining WISN-TV in August 2018, Rose worked for WHAS-TV in Louisville, Kentucky. While there, he started as a weekend anchor, then a morning anchor, and later on he served as an investigative reporter. In his role, he uncovered rape cases which earned him recognition in the region. Earlier, Derrick was an evening anchor and reporter at WMPI-TV in Mobile, Alabama. During his tenure there, he covered every major news across the Alabama Gulf Coast.
Before coming to Mobile, Rose spent two years as a reporter at WBTV-TV from March 2010 to February 2012. While at WBTV-TV, he uncovered various stories including the Charlotte teen who disappeared and was murdered in Baltimore and the discovery of the body of Phylicia Barnes. For his excellent work, Derrick was nominated by the North Carolina Associated Press and named “Rookie of the Year” in his first year after he joined the station. Previously, Rose worked for WAVY-TV as an anchor and reporter for three years.
Besides this, Derrick spent two years as a reporter and anchor at WJTV-TV from October 2004 to October 2006. In 2005, he became the first reporter to showcase the arrest of Ku Klux Klansman Edgar Ray Killen after he killed three civil rights workers in Philadelphia. Rose began his journalism career as a one-man- band at WABG-TV in Greenwood, Mississippi. He also served as a news director, producer, and anchor at WMJF-TV 16 in Towson, Maryland.
