Don Carrigan Biography

Don Carrigan is an American reporter, director, and anchor working for NEWS CENTER Maineas the State House bureau chief. He joined WCSH in February 2003, after previously working at WLBZ-TV in Bangor.

South Bristol, Maine is his native home and he attended Lincoln Academy in Newcastle where he graduated in 1969 before later joining the University of Maine in Orono where he graduated in 1974. He started his broadcast career in radio during his college days and later on, he joined WLBZ-TV in Bangor where he served as a photographer, reporter, and anchor. In addition, Carrigan has also worked at WLBZ 2 and WCSH 6 for almost 18 years, before later joining WLBZ 2 where he served as an evening anchor at 6 pm and a news director.

In addition, he joined U.S. Senator Bill Cohen’s staff in 1991, where he worked on a number of issues affecting Maine. He returned to broadcasting 1994, and joined Maine Public Television as an Executive Producer of Public Affairs. While he worked at Maine Public Television, he anchored the monthly Capitol Connection program, anchored the weekly MaineWatchand moderated dozens of political debates. Furthermore, while working at NEWS CENTER Maine, he covered political campaigns and other issues.
