Donna Pitman is an American Reporter/Anchor working for KMBC 9 News where she serves the station as a co-anchor for “First News.” Her reporting can be seen during the KMBC 9 News at 5 and 6 PM.

Pitman works for KMBC 9 News where he serves the station as a “First News” Anchor and Reporter. He is a proud native of Independence, Mo., and a graduate of the University of Missouri. There, she obtained a major in journalism and also earned a minor in Spanish. He kick-started his reporting career on public radio at KFBIA-FM in Columbia, Mo.
Later on, he began working for KOMU-TV in Columbia. Asides from this, she was a “one-woman” band where she was shooting, reporting, writing, and editing her stories. She has spent about two-and-a-half years reporting and anchoring weekend newscasts at WHOI-TV in Peoria, Illinois. Asides from this, she also returned to the Kansas City area to work at KMBC-TV.
He states that he is lucky to have the job because he met new and different people every day. Asides from this, she also learned something new every day. He has been recognized by the Kansas City Press Club for her work. She and photojournalist Tim Twyman earned a Silver Award for a report on a Vietnam Veteran whose rehabilitation ended up holding hundreds of others affected by war. Asides from this, they were also nominated for an Emmy for the same story.
He is a proud member of the Permanent Memorial Day Committee in Kansas City which recognizes veterans of all wars throughout the year. Asides from this, she also serves on an advisory on-board for Harmony and speaks at several fundraisers and schools throughout the year. He is also involved in activities to support the Truman Library, a gem in her hometown of Independence.
