Eliott Rodriguez is a Cuban-American anchor working for WFOR-TV as the main anchor at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. Before joining the station in 1999, he served as an anchor at WPLG-TV in Miami, Florida.

Upon graduating from high school, Eliott went on to join Miami Dade College in 1974 where he attained a degree in Journalism. After that, he joined the University of Miami in 1976 and graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication. He was also an active member of the Iron Arrow Honor Society.

Rodriguez works as the main anchor at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. on WFOR-TV, the CBS4 affiliate in Miami. He also hosts a weekly show called 4Sunday Morning. Eliott joined the station in 1999 working as an anchor before later replacing Antonio Mora as the main anchor in 2008. During his tenure at CBS4, he has covered numerous stories such as the Mexico City earthquake, political conventions, the invasion of Panama, Hurricane Andrew, and elections in Nicaragua and Venezuela.

In addition, Eliott has also traveled to various places including Cube where he reported the death of Fidel Castro in 2016. Other coverage includes the execution of a convicted killer, the Pope’s health, and the collapse of the Champlain Towers in Surfside. Besides this, Rodriguez also served as a moderator where he hosted the “Fangate” debate between candidates Charlie Crist and Florida Rick Scott.

For his excellent work at WFOR-TV, Eliott has been honored with various awards including the four Edward R. Murrow Awards, Silver Circle Award, and two Emmy Awards. He has also been recognized by Ocean Drive Magazine and the Miami New Times as the Best News Anchor. Previously, he spent ten years working for WPLG-TV as an anchor from 1988 to 1998.

Before working at WPLG-TV, Eliott served as a news reporter at WPVI-TV in Philadelphia from 1983 to 1988. He started his broadcasting career as a news reporter at WTVJ TV from 1980 to 1983. Earlier, he worked at The Miami News and the Miami Herald as a newspaper reporter. Aside from working as a journalist, Rodriguez also worked as an actor in the film Up Close and Personal in 1996.
