MacDonald serves as the host of FOX Business Network’s (FBN) The Evening Edit with Elizabeth MacDonald (weekdays 6-7 PM/ET.) Before she joined FOX Business Network (FBN), she previously worked for Forbes Magazine where she served as a senior editor and covered corporate accounting scandals, creating “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” annual list, and the IRS. Prior to her tenure at FORBES, she previously worked for The Wall Street Journal and enclosed the IRS, Washington, D.C., and accounting scandals. While working for The Wall Street Journal, she provided the magazine with front-page stories, Heard in editorials and Street columns.
MacDonald was also one of the first journalists to sound the alarm in the mid-nineties about the coming wave of accounting scandals. She also broke stories about the Kennedys’ use of the IRS to target and audit political enemies as well as the Church of Scientology’s secret settlement with the IRS. Before this, she was previously working for Worth magazine where she served as a financial editor and enclosed the IRS and taxes for Money Magazine.
MacDonald has also won several awards ever since she started her career. For instance, she was awarded the Society of Professional Journalists Award for Outstanding Public Service reporting; the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business Journalism (and won a nomination in an ensuing year); and the Newswomen’s Club of New York Front Page Award for Excellence in Investigative Journalism. She is also the author of “Skirting Heresy: The Life and Times of Margery Kempe” which debuted in June 2014.
