Eric Franklin is an American Photographer/Multi-media Journalist working with the US Army as a Public Affairs Specialist since May 2022. Previously, he worked for KWTX-TV, a CBS affiliate station located in Central Texas. There, he served the station as a Photographer/ Multimedia Journalist from joining the station in January 2010 till his departure.

Franklin joined the United States Army after finishing and graduating from Ellison High School.
While he was serving as a Chemical Operations Specialist in the Army and deploying several times in support of The Global War on Terrorism he developed a passion for taking pictures and telling stories. While looking into the things he developed a passion for taking pictures and telling stories while on the things he and those around him experienced.
Franklin started his education at Central Texas College, earning an associate degree before moving to Liberty University and obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communications. He comes to KWTX after years of Service as a Soldier and government contradicting, local newspaper, and as a volunteer member of the South by Southwest Photo crew.
Away from work, he enjoys the great outdoors taking pictures, especially the weird and unusual. Additionally, he considers himself a “foodie” and is always willing to try something new. Given his many years of military service and growing up in Central Texas, he is happy to be telling the stories of the community he grew up in.
